Librarian bids goodbye

| 02 May 2019 | 04:20

As the manager of the Dennis Branch of Sussex County Library for the past five years, I've made a lot of friends and acquaintances. Working at Dennis has been a wonderful experience, and I've enjoyed getting to know the people in our community.
I've got some bittersweet news. I am leaving to become the director of a small library in Passaic County. It's a positive move for my career, but I'm very sad to be leaving all the friends that I have made while working at Dennis.
Some people may think of libraries as outdated, dusty old institutions, but take a few steps inside Dennis and we will prove you wrong. We are vibrant and welcoming, providing traditional library services but also offering modern services such as computers and free wifi, fax and notary service, downloadable eBooks, not to mention personalized reading and viewing recommendations from my knowledgeable coworkers.
My last day will be Friday, May 24, 2019, and even though I am leaving, I know that you can continue to rely on the outstanding Dennis staff to welcome you as you walk inside, ask how you're doing, and make you feel welcome and at home here.
    Mary Martin
