Local honored by realtors' association

Sparta — The NJ Realtors Circle of Excellence Award is considered one of the most prestigious honors awarded to realtors in the state. It is highly regarded throughout the industry and recognizes members who have excelled in salesmanship.
Carol Ann Skelenger, of Hampton Township, a 20 year veteran realtor at Weichert's Sparta office, took that award. She also earned the Realtors Distinguished Sales Award.
Skelenger explained that it is an award given by the association to recognize a realtor who has managed to earn the New Jersey Realtors Circle of Excellence Award for 10 years.
“The NJ Realtors Distinguished Sales Award has been a goal of mine ever since I first got my Real Estate License.” Skelenger said, “I am proud to say that 2016 was my year to achieve this milestone.”
Skelenger was recognized at the 2017 Circle of Excellence Extravaganza, that was held on February 23 at Crystal Springs in Hardyston. Andrew Milling, manager of the Weichert Realtor office in Sparta, was on hand at the Sussex County Association of Realtors event to congratulate her along with his other award winning agents.
“I am happy to see Carol Ann receive both these awards, but being honored with the lifetime membership in the NJ Realtors Distinguished Sales Club is an extraordinary accomplishment,” Milling said.
Skelenger went through the Graduate Realtor Institute and earned the GRI designation in 2006. GRI is a symbol of a real estate professional, who has made the commitment to provide a high level of professional services by securing a strong educational foundation. Milling said “Carol Ann has continually placed emphasis on her education and over the years she has earned the Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource Certification (SFR), The Accredited Buyers Representative Designation (ABR), and took all the necessary Brokers Courses in order to get her Brokers License. This past year Carol Ann was one of the standouts in our office by earning membership in the Weichert - Directors Club, Sales Club and Marketed Club.”
Skelenger has been a life long volunteer and loves being involved in the community and helping people. “This profession is perfect for me. It provides me with a pay check for doing what I love to do, which is to help people. It is getting increasingly difficult to navigate the home buying and selling process, and I particularly like when I can help clients get through the process in such a way that they have a good time doing so.
