Lowes of Newton donates to hospice plans

NEWTON — Just as summer began this year, Lowes of Newton held its second annual Community Day for Hospice on June 15. The afternoon was filled with a tricky tray, dunk tank, vendors, give-a-ways, restaurants, and happy attendees.
Store manager Jim Cummings was pleased to stop by hospice office recently and present to Glenn Lewis, Director of the Capital Campaign for the Home for Hospice and Cecelia Clayton, Executive Director of Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice a check from Lowes in the amount of $1219.
Included in his visit were checks from other vendors and supporters who also contributed — Riviera Maya Restaurant located in Branchville, Intercar of Newton, along with NJ Fit Moms and Academy Travel giving the Home for Hospice a total contribution of $2404 from the day’s efforts! Glenn Lewis pointed out that “We value the generosity of individuals and businesses in contributing to our project, and Lowe’s has brought together many additional merchants in their effort to create community support for our Home for Hospice.”
Lowes plans to make this an annual event with the hope the event will continue to grow. “Even after the home is built, as a non-profit we will continue to need the community’s support to maintain the home for those in need.” Stated Clayton.
