The Newton High School Winter Track and Field Team competed in the NJSIAA Group 1 North 1 Sectional Track Championship meet in Toms River on Friday Feb. 1. Both boys and girls teams finished in 5th place overall.
Madison Latimer is the champion in the girls 400 meter dash with a time of 59.88 seconds. Max Weiss, Matt Malvey, Anthony Briones, Jaheim Shannon and Mercedes Latimer also advanced to the Group 1 Championship meet to be held on Feb. 15, 2019.
