Public invited to 'plow day' Fields will be plowed as farmers plowed 50 years ago

The North Jersey Antique Engine and Machine Club was organized in 1979 and is dedicated to the preservation of all antique power, agricultural and mechanical devices. It also is active in educating others in the rich history of these machines and equipment. Many of its members own antique farm tractors, and the club sponsors annual "Plow Days."
During these events, they operate vintage tractors and plows, plowing a local farmer's field the way it would have been done 50 or more years ago.
The next plow day is scheduled for this Saturday, weather and conditions permitting, at Ideal Farms on Rt.15 in Lafayette and a second plow day is scheduled for early May at Castimore Farms in Augusta.
The general public is invited to these two plow days and to help share the club's mission of preserving and continuing Sussex County's agricultural history and tradition.
