Registration Open for 10th Annual Krogh's Turkey Trot

SPARTA — The Sparta Education Foundation’s Thanksgiving morning fundraiser is on Thursday November 24. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual Krogh’s Turkey Trot, one of Sparta’s best-loved events, which has become “The Tradition Before The Tradition.” It’s a spirited way to spend a memorable Thanksgiving morning with other members of the community who share the common goal of supporting strong public schools. In 2015, the race was named #1 Turkey Trot in the state by Garden State Runs, who noted the scenic beauty of the race route along East Shore Trail in Lake Mohawk. The Turkey Trot will once again host a Food Drive, please donate non-perishable items at the pre-race pasta party on Wednesday night or on race day.
Runners can register online at kroghsturkeytrot.com or download the form at that website and mail it to The Sparta Education Foundation, PMB 126, 270 Sparta Avenue #104, Sparta, NJ 07871. All mail-in registrations must be postmarked by Saturday, November 19. In-person registrations are available at Krogh’s every Thursday night in October from 5p.m. to 8p.m. Runners will receive a $5.00 discount on 5K registrations (no discount for the 1-Mile Fun Run, cash and check only), plus a 10% discount on your meal at Krogh’s if you eat there that night.
A packet pick-up and free pasta party for registered participants takes place on Wednesday, November 23 from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lake Mohawk Country Club. Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 7 a.m. in the Lake Mohawk Country Club Ballroom. The pasta party is catered by Villa Capri II, a Silver Sponsor of the Turkey Trot.
