HOPATCONG — Hopatcong High School is offering the Tails for Teens by K9 Connections program,
Tails for Teens is a dog training program that teaches students to teach rescue dogs to be therapy dogs for wounded veterans.
The program is designed to help students with emotional and behavioral issues develop a positive self-esteem.
Students learn life skills in goal setting, resilience, decision making, self-avocation and communication.
Four to six students are selected through an application process and paired with dogs screened by the K9 Connections to work on training the dogs after school.
