ANDOVER — The Andover Animal Hospital was recently recognized by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) for 25 consecutive years of veterinary excellence at the AAHA's annual conference in Denver, CO. Since 1987, Andover Animal Hospital has voluntarily submitted itself to the AAHA's standards of accreditation. The accreditation process covers 900 individual standards, divided into 19 sections including patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. "I would like to congratulate Andover Animal Hospital on vigilantly keeping up with advancements in veterinary medicine and adhering to the association's high standards for the past 25 years," said Michael Cavanaugh, executive director of the AAHA. "They are clearly committed to doing their very best as evidenced by the hard work and effort they put into this voluntary process." Only 15 percent of all small animal hospitals in the U.S. have achieved accreditation by the AAHA. The Andover Animal Hospital is located at 243 Newton-Sparta Road in Andover and can be reached at 973-940-2276.
