Father John's Animal House in Lafayette will benefit from a wine and food pairing dinner set for Friday, March 11, at Mattar's Panther Valley Golf and Country Club in Allamuchy, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Father John's Animal House (formerly Sussex County Fellowship for Animals) provides love, companionship, shelter, food, socialization and medical care for the many unwanted animals that come to it until permanent, loving homes can be found for them. A non-profit, 501c(3) organization supported entirely by donations, grants and fundraising events, Father John's receives no federal, state, county or municipal funding.
The wine to befeatured at the tasting and pairing is Flora Springs. “Flora Springs holds a unique card in the Napa Valley winery and vineyard landscape,” said Peggy Post, president of Father John's Animal House. The estate’s diverse soil types, varying exposures and elevations as well as varying clones and vine age, allows it to grow fruit worthy of the highest classification, Triology, she said.
“The Mattar family has been very supportive of Father John's Animal House and has done a number of wine tastings for us at their two locations in Allamuchy: the country club and Mattar's Bistro,” Post said.
Panther Valley Golf and Country Club is located at One Forest Drive in Allamuchy. Visit www.panthervalleygolf.com for directions.
Tickets are $125 per person and include gratuity. To purchase tickets, call Peggy Post 973-670-5641 or e-mail postpeggy@gmail.com. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

PHOTO TWO: Ruby is a young female pit bull/terrier mix. Spayed and current on vaccinations, she is a fun-loving girl who prefers spending time with people over almost everything else. She could spend all day with you playing fetch or going for walks. When she has to spend time alone, all she needs is a chew toy to be perfectly content. Ruby doesn’t really like sharing her people and would prefer to be the only pet in the home.
