Women’s Club announces fashion show and award

HOPATCONG — The Hopatcong Women’s Club met in February for their regular membership meeting. Upcoming and ongoing events were discussed, most notably the upcoming Annual Fashion Show and the Career Development Award. The Annual Fashion Show, now in its sixth year, has fast become a ritual for the women of Hopatcong and surrounding areas. The event will be held this year on April 22 at the Ridgewood Restaurant, 35 Brooklyn-Stanhope Road, from 1-4 p.m. The show will feature fashions from Coldwater Creek, a vintage fashion show, a silent auction, a 50/50 drawing, and more. Proceeds will benefit the Hopatcong Women’s Club charitable donations fund. In the past, recepients have included DASI (Domestic Assault and Sexual Abuse Intervention services), scholarships, Head Start, Gilda’s Club and many more. The Hopatcong Women’s Club is offering a $500 Career Development Award to a female resident of Hopatcong who is planning to return to school. The recipient must be 25 years or older. At the meeting, certified financial planner Dante P. Liberti, from Dynasty Advisors in Iselin, spoke to the club about investing smartly so that money saved matches the rate of inflation. "He was engaging, lively, and gave easy-to-understand examples culled from his many years of experience in the field," said the Hopatcong Women's Club in a press release.
