Main Sussex County Library to host program on essential elements of estate planning

    Newton — The Sussex County Main Library will present a program, titled “Estate Planning: Only the Unprepared Die Young,” at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at 125 Morris Turnpike, Newton. Bernard Kiely, CPA of Kiely Capital Management, Inc., in Morristown, will describe the essential elements of an estate plan. He will cover the basics: having a will; making medical decisions; and issues related to the control of assets. Kiely will describe some of the more common estate plans, including the ramifications of “doing nothing.” He will also address the basics of tax planning for estates; describe ways people typically preserve and pass down wealth to their heirs; and what they can do to protect themselves and their spouses as they age.
