Newton — “This has to be a record,” explains Mike McGuire, President of McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac, about a recent customer who traveled about 4,460 miles to purchase an SUV at the Newton dealership. Huntington Talbott Hatch came from Anchorage, Alaska to acquire a 2003 Chevy Suburban that he had found on McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac’s Web site. “Customers do search the sites, but rarely travel this far,” notes McGuire. Hatch not only wanted a particular model, he was seeking low mileage and McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac happened to have his dream SUV in its inventory. He felt the Suburban could handle the rigors of the ice and snow in Alaska. The fact that Hatch is a retired pilot, with free-flying privileges, doesn’t diminish the fact that he traveled across the country because he then had to drive it home! McGuire invites area residents to check out the dealership’s inventory at www.mcguirechevy.com. McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac is located in downtown Newton, adjacent to the square and much easier to reach from any point in Sussex County than traveling from Alaska.
