McGuire named vice president of marketing group for GM

Newton Mike McGuire, President of McGuire Chevrolet Cadillac of Newton, has been named vice president of the New York Local Marketing Group for General Motors. He has been a member of the organization that oversees marketing for Chevrolet in the New York region for the past three years. He also serves the organization as chairman of its Web committee, which educates the consumer about Chevrolet’s latest incentives, information about its models and additional timely information. McGuire joined the dealership in 1985 and was named sales manager a few years later. He assumed the presidency of the dealership in 1993, upon the death of his father, Max McGuire. McGuire is also a member of the Executive Board of the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers and serves as its regional vice president. Each year, McGuire devotes much time to the success of the Max McGuire Memorial Golf Tournament, which benefits the Hackensack University Medical Center. Over the years, the tournament has raised more than $300,000, which has been dedicated to a rooftop garden and the Emergency Pediatric Unit. McGuire graduated from Pennington School, NADA’S Dealer Academy and attended Northwood University in Midland, Mich. McGuire, his wife, Maureen, and their daughters are residents of Sparta.
