Saturday, May 27 Hopatcong The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10101 will hold a Memorial Day parade starting at the Hopatcong Borough Hall at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28 Stanhope Garden State Wine Festival at the Waterloo Village. Adults $18, ages 12-16 $10. From noon to 5 p.m. attendees can listen to blues music, take the kids to the Kids Zone, browse vendors, purchase gourmet food and sample from 18 New Jersey wineries. May 29, Monday. Memorial Day celebration at Waterloo Village from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy a picnic (blankets welcome), or visit the barbecue and beer tent. Monday, May 29 Andover Borough A Memorial Day ceremony will be held in Andover Borough Park at 11 a.m. Andover Township A red, white, and blue hike for teens and adults will be held at Kittatinny Valley State Park from 9-11 a.m. Moderate 3.5-mile hike on the park’s trails. Byram Memorial Day ceremony by the Veterans of Foreign Wars at 10 a.m. at the monument on Mansfield Drive. Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m. leaves from the firehouse and goes to Cranberry Lane. Franklin Memorial Day parade at 10:30 a.m. Line-up on Main Street, and proceeds to the memorial for a ceremony. Hamburg The Hamburg Fire Department and American Legion will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at the North Hardyston Cemetary at 9:15 a.m. At 9:45 a.m. they will hold a service at the monument in front of the municipal building in Hamburg. Ogdensburg The American Legion will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at St. Thomas of Aquin Church at 8 a.m.. For more information, call 973-827-3190. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a ceremony at Ogdensberg Memorial Park at 9:15 a.m. Sparta Memorial Day parade starts at East Shore Trail at 10 a.m., proceeds through the plaza, and stops at Ungerman Field by the library. There will be a ceremony at Ungerman Field at 11 a.m. Vernon The Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a Memorial Day parade. The line-up is at 8 a.m. at the Dairy Queen on Route 94. The parade starts at 9 a.m. and ends at Veterans Memorial Park, where a ceremony will be held. The West Milford Veterans’ Council will hold its 62nd Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park, Union Valley Road. The West Milford High School Band will play from 10-10:30 a.m. Prayers and speeches by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Vietnam Veterans of America will be from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Immediately after the ceremony, the parade will form in front of town hall along the drive into Recreation Field. The parade will follow the usual route via Union Valley Road, Marshall Hill Road and Lincoln Avenue to the American Legion Post. New York Sunday, May 28 The Town of Woodbury Memorial Day Parade will form on Bond Street in Central Valley at 1 p.m. The parade will end at the Cemetery of the Highlands at Route 32 and Ridge Road, with memorial ceremonies to be held at the Veterans’ Monument of the Highlands and Firemen’s Monument at 3 p.m. Monday, May 29 The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will sponsor Memorial Day services at the firehouse, 81 Main St., at 11 a.m. Memorial Day services by the American Legion Post 1250. A mass at St. Joseph’s cemetery on Union Corners Road will begin at noon, followed by a service at the adjacent Jewish Cemetery. At 2 p.m. a parade will begin in the Village of Florida starting at the village hall. The parade will end at the Florida Cemetery on Bridge Street, where the final services will be conducted. An additional 20 World War II veterans from the Valley View Residential Facility will be joining in the parade. Observances will be held by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Colonel Augustus van Horne Ellis Camp 124. The observances will include morning services at Unionville Cemetery. The evening program will begin at 7 p.m. at the grave of Capt. William Jackson of Company K at Hamptonburgh Cemetery, located off the Sarah Wells Trail in Hamptonburgh. The American Legion on New Monroe Road will hold a Memorial Day service at 2 p.m. Village of Harriman Memorial Day ceremonies. Traditional worship service at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church on Route 17M in Harriman at 10 a.m. Honor guards of participating veterans’ organizations and Harriman Engine Company #1 will proceed to the veterans’ memorial in the village square for ceremonies at 11 a.m. At the conclusion, they will proceed to the Veterans of Foreign Wars memorial on River Road for a memorial service. After the service there will be a picnic in the Grover Cornelius Pavilion in the Village of Harriman Park. Memorial Day parade sponsored by the Polish Legion of American Veterans. Participants line up at the Legion Hall at 7:30 a.m. and march to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Pine Island. The parade beings at 9 a.m. and ends at the cemetery. A mass by Pastor Joachim Olendzk will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at 8 a.m. Pike County Saturday, May 27 A dedication of granite stone from the Washington D.C. Mall World War II Memorial will be held at Veterans Memorial Park at Airport Park at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 28 A Memorial Day program to honor the memory of Army Lt. Louis Allen will be held at the administration building, Gold Key Lake, off Log Tavern Road at 3 p.m. The public is welcome. May 29, Monday. Memorial Day parade starts at 10:40 a.m. Proceeds from Fifth and West Ann streets, east on West Hartford Street, north on Broad Street to Veterans’ Park opposite the Pike County Administration Building where ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. A separate Veterans of Foreign Wars gravesite ceremony will be held at Milford Cemetery.
