NEWTON — In keeping with a long-standing Kittatinny tradition on Valentine’s Day, male students were given a red paper heart on Feb. 14 to wear throughout the day. The rules of the contest were simple. During the day, if a guy talks to a girl in between classes and during lunch, he must give her his red paper heart. The goal of each female student was to use all her powers of persuasion to convince as many guys as possible to talk to her, and claim their hearts in the process. At the end of the day, prizes were given to the four girls who had collected the most hearts.
