Museum to celebrate Father's Day
Sussex Fathers and their families are invited to attend a special guided tour of the Antique Motorcycle and Car Museums at the Space Farms Museum this Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17. The informative tour will begin at 2 p.m. at the Space Farms Complex. The Space Farms Museums began in the 1940s with a display of Ralph Space’s personal collection of Native American Artifacts in the entrance building to the zoo. An avid collector of Americana, Ralph continued to amass over one hundred thousand items in his lifetime. In 1979 Space opened the Space Farms Museums in the remodeled barns of the Belle Ellen Farm, filling them with antique motorcycles, over 50 restored antique cars, wagons, tractors, tools, toys and other articles. On Father’s Day a special drawing will be held for a Family Season Pass that enables the winning dad to bring his family to the zoo, as often as they wish, until the zoo closes October 31. Space Farms is located on Route 519 in Sussex and is open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October 31. Admission is $12.45 per adult, $11.45 per senior and $8 per child. Group rates and season passes are available. For more information or directions, call 973-875-5800 or visit www.spacefarms.com.
