New advocates sworn in to help abused, neglected children

Sussex - Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties, Inc., welcomed eight new special advocates, who were sworn in by Sussex County Family Court Judge Edward V. Gannon, on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Judge Gannon shared his high regard for the special advocates program and what they have been able to accomplish for the children they represent. The judge said the advocates serve as a bridge between where the child has been, and the difficulties they have faced, and the promising future ahead of them. There are now over 42 advocates speaking up for Sussex County’s abused and neglected children. Volunteers work with one child or one family of children, helping them through the system to a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.
