New Jersey mayors honor Assemblywoman Alison McHose

Sparta - Assemblywoman Alison Littell McHose was selected as a recipient of the N.J. Conference of Mayors’ Annual Legislator’s Award for 2006. McHose was cited for her “record of leadership on behalf of New Jersey residents.” “It is truly an honor be recognized by mayors from throughout New Jersey,” said McHose. “I look forward to working with all elected officials as we work to cut wasteful spending in the state budget, promote economic growth and lower taxes.” Donald Fauerbach, executive director of the conference, said another major factor that contributed to McHose’s selection, was her support of legislation important to the conference of mayors. The N.J. Conference of Mayors was founded in 1963 by a group of mayors who believed their collective voices should be heard in Trenton and Washington. The founding mayors were interested in each other’s activities and chose to find common ground on issues impacting their residents. The group has since become the largest statewide organization in the U.S. that exclusively represents the interests of local mayors to state and federal legislatures and administrations.
