    July 18 At 1:16 p.m., Newton Police Officers were summoned to the Newton pool located on Moran Street to investigate the reported theft of a wallet and cash. Pool employees gave a description of a suspect observed running from the area and the individual was stopped on Water Street by county officers, Sergeant’s Goerge Kately and Detective Linquest. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of James Heddy, 29. He was charged with theft and was lodged in the county jail in lieu of $500 bail. Both the wallet and cash were recovered separated nearby. July 21 At 10:19 p.m., Newton police officers were summoned to a disturbance on Main Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed Selena Sparrow, 35, of Newton, acting disorderly. The resident manager asked that she be removed from the building because of her behavior and she subsequently attacked the manager Earl Worman. Officers intervened and Sparrow is alleged to have bitten Officer Daniel Smith on the arm during the fracas. She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of an officer. She was released pending a court appearance.
