Newton Police
May 26 At 11:15 p.m., police officers arrested and took into custody Thomas Ziniewicz, 35, of Newton, for failing to register a change of address with the police department as required under NJS 2C:7-2. A cooperative investigation, including the Newton Police Dept., N.J. State Parole Offender Monitoring Unit, Sussex County Probation Dept. and the Prosecutor’s Office, had disclosed that for the majority of the past 30 days, Ziniewicz had been staying at a different address in Newton than the one registered. Ziniwiecz was wearing a GPS monitoring anklet. He was processed and lodged in the Sussex County Jail with no bail ordered by Superior Court Judge Thomas Critchley Jr. The arrest was made possible through regular monitoring efforts on the part of the Newton Police Dept., working closely with the N.J. State Parole Monitoring Unit.
