Nine at Kittatinny High School students win Bloustein scholarships

Newton - Nine students from Kittatinny Regional High School were selected as Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars. The honor is given to the highest achieving students throughout the state. To be eligible for the honor, students must rank one, two, or three in the graduating class, and rank within the top 10 percent of the graduating class at the end of the junior year; or rank within the top 10 percent of the graduating class at the end of the junior year, with combined critical reading and math SAT scores of 1260 or higher at the end of the junior year. (N.J. students attending out-of-state secondary schools must rank in the top 10 percent of their class, and have combined critical reading and math SAT scores of at least 1260.) More than 5,000 students received award offers for the 2006/2007 collegiate academic year. All Bloustein scholars are offered an annual award of $1,000.
