Nominations sought for outstanding senior of year
Newton - The Sussex County Division of Senior Services is seeking nominations for the Edna O’Connor Senior Citizen Award. The award was established in memory of Edna O’Connor, longtime resident of the county and a leading advocate for senior citizens. Eligibility for the award must be demonstrated in outstanding advocacy on behalf of the elderly in the county. Residents age 60 and older, who have put forth extraordinary efforts that have had a lasting impact on the quality of life for the elderly in Sussex County may be nominated. Nominations should be in writing and submitted to the Division of Senior Services Advisory Council on or before July 14. Nominating forms are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the Sussex County Division of Senior Services, located on the second floor at 1 Spring St. in Newton.
