NEWTON — Junior high students continued their annual tradition of Operation Cougar Pride at Kittatinny Regional High School under the direction of social studies teachers Mrs. Ellen Kolonoski and Mrs. Tara Jones. The project started in 2004 and calls for the students to collect and box care packages that are then sent to Kittatinny alumni who are stationed in the United States military. This year packages are being collected for Captain Craig Zdaniewicz and Lance Corporal Nicholas Tramontozzi who are currently stationed in Afghanistan. The care packages include letters, cards, puzzle books, personal care items and snack foods.
