Paper shredding event July 15 to benefit hospice
Newton - SK Paper Shred will host a paper shredding event to benefit Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, at the parking lot of the hospice, located at 99 Sparta Ave. in Newton. The event will be held rain or shine Shredding will be conducted on site by SK’s state-of-the-art 2006 computerized shredding truck, and residents in the community are welcome to bring their business and personal records of any kind in exchange for a donation of $5 per box. “Many people are concerned about identity theft these days,” said Skip Klimas, owner of SK Paper Shred. “They choose to be safe rather than sorry, and they shred their confidential documents instead of throwing them in the trash.” SK Paper Shred, located in Branchville, is a member of the National Association for Information Destruction, and its representatives are fully bonded and insured. Identity theft experts remind the public to “guard your personal information,” and to safeguard any documents that include one’s name and address, including junk mail and unwanted bill information. This event affords a convenient way to do it. The contributions will benefit Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice services for patients and families in need of hospice care and bereavement support. All shredded materials will be recycled, and paper clips, fasteners, staples, notebook wires, clips, rubber bands and telephone books are accepted. For information, call the hospice at 973 383-0115 or SK Paper Shred at 973 875-3444.
