Members of the Northwest New Jersey Peace Fellowship held a special vigil on the square in Newton on Jan. 1, the day after the 3,000th American soldier was killed in Iraq. The peace fellowship has members from throughout the area, including many who live and work in Sussex County. The group is nonpartisan, endorses no political candidates and is nonsectarian. The group believes, “Disputes among nations should be resolved by peaceful means and through the United Nations. No nation should impose its vision of the world order on the rest of the world.” (Photos provided)
