Newton During the half-time intermissions at Kittatinny Regional High School football games, two members of the school color guard get the opportunity to twirl their flags and batons, demonstrating the expertise that has won them first and second place trophies, the past few years. Marisa Clark and Shaunna Foster are members of the Highliter Twirlers, a competitive baton-twirling team from Hopatcong. They participate in competitions each spring in Bloomfield, including the New Jersey State Baton Twirling Championships. Marisa also competes in individual and trio categories. This past summer, they both participated in the AAU Junior Olympics in Virginia Beach, Virginia, competing in team routines that won a gold and bronze medal.
