SPARTA — Police say a group of men smoking marijuana at a home in northern New Jersey created so much smoke they triggered a fire alarm, and then their own arrest on drug charges. Fire officials in Sparta say that when the smoke detector went off, it activated a home alarm system that resulted in both the fire and police departments being dispatched. The New Jersey Herald of Newton reports police detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana when they got to the house early Thursday but found nobody inside because everybody had fled. Three young men and a juvenile were later arrested on drug-related charges. At the home police say they found a glass water bong, a plastic bag with marijuana, a marijuana grinder and other drug paraphernalia.
