“Powerful You” Networking for women comes to Sussex County
Sparta - Women in business and those whose professional lives are in transition will want to check out a networking opportunity on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Sparta Diner. Powerful You! Women’s Network headquartered in Denville will hold its first meeting in Sussex County. The network is designed specifically for women in business and transition who are seeking connections with other women in business. Powerful You! meetings allow time for networking, personal promotions (aka 30-second commercials), an educational talk by one of the Powerful You! members, sharing of business growth strategies and a gratitude share. “Our network is as unique as the many different women who attend,” says Sue Urda, Founder of Powerful You! “We call it Networking with a Heart, and the women who join us are open, fun-loving, philanthropic and intelligent women who are passionate about their businesses.” Meetings are planned for the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. For further information, call Arlene Rich at 973-398-0169 or e-mail her at Arlene@TheSpiritualAwakening.com, or Loann Simon at 973-487-0109 or e-mail her at loann@simondesignswebsites.com. One of the goals of the company is to provide meeting venues in various towns across the country, so that no matter where a woman lives, she can find other women to network with. The meetings are open to all women from business owners to corporate executives to women in transition. Membership in the group is not required to attend meetings, although there are many benefits of being a member, including a personal profile on the corporate Web site for worldwide access, the opportunity to speak at the monthly meetings and discounts to all Powerful You! meetings and events. “Networking is not only about showing up and passing out business cards, it’s about building relationships and creating connections,” says Urda. “The most valuable connections in business are created on the principles of respect, acceptance and a mutual understanding of sharing, giving and receiving. The best business relationships are much like the best marriages; when the goals, values and desires of the individuals are closely linked, there is a good chance for a happy, powerful, mutually beneficial relationship for all.”
