State Senator Robert Littell presents pen to Spc. Thomas Snyder of Sparta, a member of the N.J. National Guard. The pen was used by Gov. Richard Codey to sign legislation sponsored by Littell and Assemblywoman Alison McHose (far left). The local legislators worked with Snyder and his mother, Joanne Scally (far right), to ensure that members of the N.J. National Guard are exempt from tuition fees at state universities and colleges. The bill was signed into law in January. (Photo provided)
