Reflections on 9-11

Students in all social studies classes at Kittatinny Regional High School viewed a moving video put together by CNN regarding the events and news coverage of the murder of innocent civilians, and the wanton destruction of New York’s Twin Towers on 9-11-2001. Kittatinny students were deeply affected by the video clip so much so that they left the auditorium in silent pensive thought. Having assigned students the task of writing a “Reflections” essay on how the 9-11 event changed their lives, teachers received so many thoughtful words, it was difficult to choose the best work in each grade. However, five did emerge and those winners were given a certificate and a free lunch in the school cafeteria. In the picture are the high-school students who won: Angela Hoover (grade 9), Mike Jetter (grade 10), Julie Grodsky (grade 11), and Jessica Stover (grade 12). The winner in the Junior High was 8th grader Autumn Hullings, who was not available at the time the picture was taken.
