Registration begins for winter programs at the YMCA

    Hardyston — Registration for winter programs at the Sussex County YMCA will begin for facility members on Dec. 26, and for program members on Jan. 2. YMCA members must register for these programs in person at the YMCA, located at 15 Wits End Road in Hardyston. The Winter Program Session, which begins Jan. 8 and runs through Mar. 4, will be offering a wide variety of programs and classes including: Aquatic Programs - Aquatic Programs will be offered to people of all ages and skill levels. Children as young as 3 months old may enroll in one of the YMCA’s many Aquatic Youth Classes. These classes are specially designed to help children learn the fundamentals of swimming by progressively building upon the skills learned at each previous level. Adults and seniors may choose from two adult swim instruction classes for beginners or more advanced swimmers. They also have several aquatic fitness programs to choose from which provide a full body workout with little stress on joints, making them ideal for people with arthritis. Adult Programs - For adults looking to get in shape and kick start their New Year’s resolutions, the YMCA offers a wide variety of fitness programs such as cardio, step, Pilates, yoga, karate, aikido, group cycling and more. Youth Programs - The Sussex County YMCA offers a full array of sports programs and clinics as well as many Youth Specialty Programs for children as young as 3 years-old, such as soccer, gymnastics, karate, cheer leading, yoga. Teen Programs - Teens are also benefiting from the many programs that the YMCA has to offer. Teen Programs include teen aerobics, Pilates, pre-season sports conditioning, hip hop dance class, dodgeball and American Red Cross Babysitting Certification.
