There’s a laser show coming to Andover on Dec. 4. No, not up in the sky, but inside Bella Boutique on Newton Sparta Road. The same woman who first brought tanning to the area back in 1989 is bringing in Mokhtar Asaadi, M.D., F.A.C.S., P.A. to perform the latest innovations in laser procedures. Laura Rinaolo opened Tanfastic as a tanning and nail salon, in 1989 because there really were not any tanning options in the general Newton/Sparta area. It was an instant hit. As other tanning salons started coming to the area, Rinaolo always stayed on the cutting edge of the business and was the first to bring in high intensity beds. She made her salon unique, decorating it with a Greek and Roman influence, complete with pillars and little statues. The nail salon has always been full-service, including, in keeping with the décor, two pedicure thrones. The tanning and nail salon still exist, but as time marched on, along with beauty and fashion, so did Rinaolo. Several years ago, she changed the name of the salon from Tanfastic to Bella Boutique. “The name was just more fitting for where I was headed with the salon,” she said. And where she was headed was to bring Sussex County into the 21st century. Rinaolo started by bringing in Asaadi, a long-time friend and her doctor, to perform Botox and Restylane a year ago. Asaadi explained that, “Botox eliminates fine lines on the forehead and on and between the eyes.” Restylane plumps the lips and eliminates folds which run from the nose to the mouth. Asaadi started coming monthly to do these two procedures at Bella Boutique, which were previously available only in New York City, save for a few other options in the area. But Rinaolo was not done there. She knew of the progress laser treatments had made and wanted to offer them at Bella Boutique as well. Lasers have been used for years for a variety of medical cosmetic procedures including treatment of facial and leg veins, age spots and rejuvenating the skin on the face. Laser hair removal for men and women safely and effectively removes hair from the legs, chin, underarm, back and bikini area. The system used by Asaadi is a revolutionary long-pulse high energy alexandrite laser that emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. In addition to hair removal, Asaadi performs laser treatment for pigmented lesions such as sun and age spots, freckles and birth marks. For these, he uses a Candela laser which has a unique ability to selectively treat the pigmented area, eliminating it while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. He also does laser treatments on Rosacea, wrinkles, angiomas and poikiloderma. In addition to the laser and cosmetic procedures, Bella Boutique is still a state-of-the-art tanning and nail salon to which Rinaolo has added hair and also sells Swarovski jewelry. Since people come to Bella Boutique for beauty, Rinaolo is also giving the building a facelift, re-doing the outside in stucco. A business woman with an eye for the cutting edge in the world of beauty and fashion, Rinaolo thoroughly researches any treatments she brings to her salon. “I feel Dr. Asaadi is the best and to be able to offer people in this area these fantastic laser treatments is exciting,” she concluded. Based out of Short Hills, Asaadi has been in practice for 25 years and specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery of the face and body. For information about the treatments, call 973-579-7709.
