Rock, Ribs and Ridges

Two-day celebration to feature Dave Mason, Marshall Tucker Band and New Riders of the Purple Sage VERNON The Hidden Valley Club will be the setting for Rock, Ribs and Ridges, a two-day celebration of music from legendary artists, along with a barbecue cook-off, at the club’s natural amphitheater. Rock-and-Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason (“Feeling Alright”), legendary Southern rockers the Marshall Tucker Band (“Heard it in a Love Song”) and American country rock band New Riders of the Purple Sage (“Panama Red”) headline this event. There will also be a juried barbecue cook-off featuring a variety of offerings from chefs from around the country and local rib cooks who will be vying for cash prizes. The Rib Fest Cook-off will have up to six barbecue vendors known as “ribbers” competing for thousands of dollars in prize money throughout the weekend and for titles such as “Best Ribs” and “Best Sauce.” Dave Mason, who catapulted to fame by co-founding Traffic then in his own solo career that has spanned four decades, will perform on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. New Riders of the Purple Sage perform Sunday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. followed by the Marshall Tucker Band at 4 p.m. Tickets General admission tickets include lawn seating for concerts are $25 to $30 if purchased in advance by Aug. 13 ($35 at the gate) with special two-day admission advanced pricing of $45 to $50 ($60 at the gate). VIP founder’s premium tickets include free parking in the Franklin Sussex Automall VIP parking lot closest to the festival grounds and day-long access to The Lodge at the Hidden Valley Club.
