SAT prep course at SCC
NEWTON With recent changes to the SATthe test is almost four hours long, there are over 170 questions plus an essay to writemany students, even honor students, do not score to their potential. According to Corporate and Community Education of Sussex County Community College, the best way to prepare a high schooler for the test is to enroll them in one of their SAT prep courses. This course is also suitable for those taking the PSAT, as well, and it reviews all of the material covered on the exam as well as giving test-taking strategies. This six-session course additionally teaches how to write personal statements for college applications and how to deal with test anxiety. The course is taught by Ray Newman, an experienced test prep instructor and author of “The New SAT/PSAT: Everything in 53 Pages,” a complimentary copy of which will be given to each enrolled student. The book “Barron’s How to Prepare for the New SAT 1, 23rd edition,” is required for this class. There will be two sessions of the SAT prep offered.
