Andover TWp. — Farm Fun Day Care will be sponsoring a "Scarecrow Building" workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, at their farm in Andover Township, on the border of Lafayette. A rain date is Friday, Sept. 23. The whole family can build and take home a decorative or functional scarecrow. Participants should bring tattered clothes and an old hat to dress the scarecrow. Straw, poles, and refreshments will be provided. The children can also pet and feed the animals and play in the playground area. A donation of $5 per family is requested, with all proceeds going to Pass-It-Along of Sussex County, a non-profit organization that helps volunteers find ways to pass along their services to the community. Some projects include birthday parties for children in need, baseball with disabled people, and pet parades at nursing homes. Farm Fun Day Care is a childcare facility for children ages two to six.
