SCCC scholarship opportunity

NEWTON — The Foundation for Sussex County Community College (SCCC) will be awarding twenty-five $500 scholarships to be applied towards the spring 2012 semester. Students must fill out an application which they can access online at sussex.edu and submit it by Monday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. to the Counseling and Advising Center in the Administration Building, Room B206. The scholarship requires a typed personal essay to accompany the two page form as well as a letter of recommendation. The scholarships being awarded this spring will give preference to students who demonstrate financial need. Transfer workshop SCCC will be hosting a college transfer fair on Tuesday, Nov. 15, for all students looking to make the move from SCCC to a four year school in order to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. The Counseling and Advising Center is sponsoring the event which will feature representatives from more than twenty colleges who can answer any questions students may have.
