NEWTON — Sixth grade students from the four elementary schools in the Kittatinny School District recently visited Kittatinny Regional High School to learn more about the school they’ll be attending for the next six years. The day’s program was complete with lunch, tours by peer leaders, speeches from school administration, as well as stories and tips from junior high students who used to attend their elementary schools. Seventh graders Madison Lacken, Connor Douglas, Courtney Bellush, and Aidan Loevlie, delivered short presentations to the visiting sixth-graders focusing on the personal experiences they had during their first year at Kittatinny. There is a contest each year offered to the sixth grade students to write an essay and staff members choose the best essay from each of the four schools. Winners were: Sunshine Karns from Fredon; Samantha Pasciolla from Hampton; Rachel Schweighart from Sandyston; and Samantha Fritsch from Stillwater. They received prizes from the Kittatinny School Store.
