NEWTON-On Friday, July 30, flash back to the 60s with a fast 5K race to be held at Sussex County's Swartswood State Park on Route 619 in Newton.   The race will feature music from the era of peace, love and happiness along with decorations and prizes from the days of revolution when the Baby Boomer generation was breaking out and being free. Remember the days of Jerry Garcia, V.W. Buses, Flower Children, Tie Dyes, Terrapin Station, Incense, Buffalo Sandals, Bell-Bottom Jeans, Psychedelic Sunglasses, Big Hair, and Dancing Bears. Proceeds benefit The Bears Running Club, a Sussex County-based not-for-profit organization that helps to spread the many positives of the sport of running to kids and adults in the community.  Race time is 7 p.m. and it starts in front of the park's beach pavilion. There will be post-race refreshments and goodies. The pre-registration fee is just $8 and day-of-race fee is $10.
