    Patrolman Roan Hassloch was on routine patrol on Dec. 22 at 5:59 p.m. when he was dispatched to be on the look out for a white and yellow box truck that had been involved in a hit and run accident in Andover Township. The truck, a Ford Super-duty, was observed on Terri-Lynn Drive with damage to the driver’s side. The driver, Kevin Viersma, 36, of Sparta was arrested for driving while impaired. He was transported to Sparta police headquarters for processing. He was additionally charged with careless driving. Viersma struck several mailboxes and a tree within Andover Township. No injuries were reported. He was released pending a required court appearance. Also on Dec. 22, at 9:04 p.m., Patrolman Joseph Antonello was on routine patrol on Main Street, when he observed a brown GMC Sierra being operated in an erratic manner. The driver Martin Davis, 52, of Stroudsburg, Pa., was arrested for driving while impaired. He was transported to Sparta police headquarters for processing. He was additionally charged with failure to maintain lane and careless driving and was released pending a required court appearance.
