    On Sunday, May 27 at 2:57 p.m., Patrolman Frank Schomp was assigned to the DWI check-point operation on Route 15. A white Honda, driven by Eric Farr, 39, of Sparta was stopped at the check-point. Mr. Farr was attested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Sparta police headquarters for processing. He was also charged with careless driving. He was released pending a required court appearance. Sgt. Jeff Mase was on routine patrol on Route 15, when he noticed a Ford Mustang with a cracked taillight. He pulled the car over and when he approached it, he smelled burned marijuana. Further investigation led to the arrest of the driver Shawn Manno, 25, of Hamburg, for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. The passenger Elise Mazzetta, 27, of Hamburg was also charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Both Manno and Mazzetta were taken to Sparta police headquarters for processing. Manno was additionally charged with a improper maintenance of his vehicle, a cracked taillight, having an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both parties were released pending a required court apprearance. At l:55 p.m., Cpl. John Lamon was on routine patrol on Route 15, when he noticed a black Ford Mustang being operated at a high rate of speed, After stopping and approaching the vehicle, Lamon smelled the odor of raw marijuana, Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver Mark Starr, 36, of Godeffroy NY was in possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. He was transported to Sparta police headquarters for processing. Starr was additionally charged with speeding, failure to produce documents, possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a required court appearance.
