Sparta resident named to three top doctors' lists
Sparta - Dr. John R. Bach, vice chairman and professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation, and professor of neurosciences at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, was recently named as one of “America’s Top Doctors” and one of the “Top Doctors in the NY Metro Area” by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He was also named as one of “Best Doctors 2006” by New York Magazine. Bach, who has been named to the lists several times, was recognized for his work in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is also chief of service for the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as medical director of the Center for Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation Alternatives and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at University Hospital. Bach, an expert in neuromuscular disease and respiratory impairment, is internationally recognized for his ground-breaking work in noninvasive mechanical ventilation. He has been at University Hospital for 23 years and has published numerous articles and books. Bach is currently working on a study for the Department of Health and Human Services to improve the quality of life for ventilator users.
