n Ferguson named NJAC Field Hockey Player of the Week Katelyn Ferguson of Sussex has been chosen the first New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week in field hockey. A graduate of High Point, Ferguson is a junior goalkeeper for Ramapo College Ferguson excelled between the pipes, registering 50 minutes of shutout play with one save as the Roadrunners routed Wells, 8-0, in the season opener. She also netted her collegiate goal when she assumed a field position late in the contest. Ferguson wrapped up the week coming up with 10 saves as she went the distance in blanking Castleton State. n Lukich stars for Moravian A 13-point outburst in the first 2:36 of the game was more than enough to boost Moravian to a 22-10 victory over Susquehanna in Middle Atlantic Conference action at Rocco Calvo Field in Bethlehem, PA, on Saturday afternoon. Ogdenburg's Kevin Lukich scored on a 63-yard run on the second play from scrimmage while Cliff Garr returned an interception 32 yards on the Crusaders' third offensive play as the Greyhounds improved to 1-1. The Greyhounds rebounded from an opening day loss to nationally-ranked Delaware Valley, which routed Fairleigh Dickinson/Florham 49-3 Saturday afternoon in Morris County. Lukich, a senior 5-11, 246-pound former Wallkill Valley standout, rushed for 93 yards on just six carries. n Fricchione scores for Gettysburg In Virginia, Hampden-Sydney of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference outgunned Gettysburg of the Centennial Conference by the shootout score of 56-40 in non-conference action on Saturday. Branchville's Joe Fricchione, a 5-10, 210-pound tailback for the Bullets, turned in a nine-yard scoring run to cut Gettysburg's deficit to 42-28 late in the third quarter. The Bullets set a program record for most points scored in a loss. The previous record of 36 was set in 2000.
