East West Karate Winter shiai promotions

SPARTA — The East West Karate Academy of Sparta recently held its annual winter shiai competition at Sparta Middle School.
Over 200 students participated in the event and demonstrated their skills to the large crowd in attendance.
Jesse Huselton was promoted to first degree black belt, and Ray Reisen and Annemarie Schlomann were both promoted to second degree black belt.
To reach these levels of rank, students must train for many years and compete in local and national competitions.
Sensei Scott Klinger presided over the ceremony.
