Feji propels Falcons from downtown
Qemal Feji launched the game-winning three-pointer with four ticks remaining on the clock as the Falcons rallied to defeat Vernon in a SCIL boys’ basketball game on Thursday. It was the second success in three tries for Jefferson. Feji keyed the win, posting a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Trailing 30-24 at halftime, the Falcons utilized a three-pronged attack to pull out the win. B.J. Stokes scored 19 points and Jay Kabshura scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Jefferson rolled to a 38-27 victory over Vernon in a girls’ hoops contest played in Vernon. Dedra Pritchard powered the attack, netting a game-high 15 points. Tyler Milonas ignited a run of five straight pins as Jefferson surged to a 49-25 triumph over Sparta in an SCIL wrestling match on Wednesday. Milonas showed Alex Velella the gym lights 50 seconds into the 125-pound bout, with Steve Gough (130), John Barnett (135), Matt DalliCardillo (140) and Len Monarque (145) following with falls. Evan McGloughlin (160) and Justin Mackowiak (275) also produced pins as the Falcons posted their first win of the season after losing their opener to Bound Brook.
