Newton 3, Sparta 0 Keeper Dani Jones stopped four shots on goal as unbeaten Newton blanked winless Sparta 3-0 on Friday after the teams battled to a scoreless stalemate by intermission. Tori Matyola, Amanda Miller and Kim Parks scored for the Braves with Lisa Granwehr distributing a pair of assists. Natalie Elvidge added an assist as Newton improved to 7-0.
