Lenape 3, Jefferson 0 Lenape 6, Hopatcong 0 Goalkeeper Samantha Markferding recorded back-to-back shutouts as Lenape Valley blanked Jefferson 3-0 and Hopatcong 6-0 to raise its overall record to 13-5. Markferding came up with four saves against the Falcons and stopped three shots by the Chiefs as she was chosen the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week. Lisa Duckles scored twice and Samantha Sieka once in the win over Jefferson. Kristen Pridgen netted two goals and dished off an assist in the win over Hopatcong with Duckles, Brit Holl, Tempe Newson and Danielle Sangillo adding solo goals. Newton 5, Sparta 0 Newton clinched its 14th SCIL field hockey title and third in the last four years with a 5-0 blanking of Sparta. Natalie Elvidge, a senior midfielder, scored twice with Kelly Churchill, Amanda Miller and Kim Parks adding solo goals. Dani Jones stopped three shots on goal to register her 13th shutout of the campaign as the Braves boosted their overall record to 17-1. Kittatinny 3, Jefferson 2 Lauren Nicomini posted a hat trick effort as Kittatinny squeaked out a 3-2 victory over Jefferson on Thursday. Melissa Kistle picked up the assist on the game-winning tally while Kelly Lampeter and Maxine Mitjans were credited with assists. High Point 3, Vernon 2 High Point edged Vernon 3-2 to improve to 10-7-0. Samantha Gardner, Becky Penhaker and Corey Van Orden scored for the Wildcats while Amanda Matos netted both Viking goals.
