    Vernon 6 - Sparta 0 Ashley Gemon scored a hat trick to spur Vernon to a 6-0 rout of Sparta in an SCIL field hockey match on Fruday. Gemon opened the scoring 4:57 into the game and added a pair of insurance goals in the second half. She was chosen the Player of the Week as the Lady Vikings enjoyed their third victory against a dozen setbacks. Amanda Matos chipped in with a pair of goals with Lyndsey Morris adding one, while Brianna Capuano and Christine Smith were credited with assists. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Umstead picked up the shutout without making an official save. High Point 1 - Pope John 0 High Point was limited to only one official shot on goal, and it proved to be the game-winner as the Wildcats edged Pope John 1-0 on Saturday. Melinda Bellis netted the game-winning tally 43 seconds into the second half with Sarah Bell and Becky Penhaker picking up assists. Goalie Lauren Fasano, a sophomore, excelled as she came up with 18 saves. Kittatinny 7 - Hopatcong 0 Nicole DiBattista and Catherine McArthur tallied two goals apiece as Kittatinny routed Hopatcong 7-0 in Hampton on Friday. McArthur scored the game-winner three minutes in while Melanie Kistle contributed a goal and assist. Ali Ball and Lauren Nicomini added goals with Catie Abrams and Erin McGinniss credited with assists. Goalie Kelly McCaskill recorded the shutout. Wallkill 5 - Lenape 0 Amanda Nann scored twice and dished off a pair of assists as Wallkill Valley blanked Lenape Valley 5-0. Her sister Samantha came up with 10 saves to record her fifth shutout of the season in the goal. Karen Buda chipped in with a goal and assist while Nicole Travolta added a goal. Jess Petronaci and Lauren Sweller dished off assists.
