Fireworks to wrap up the season

AUGUSTA — The inaugural season of the Sussex Skyhawks is coming to a close, but the freshman baseball team plans to go out with a bang—actually, several bangs, as the Skyhawks plan for three fireworks nights and other special promotions during August. The fireworks will be on Friday, August 18th and Friday, Aug. 25 (both sponsored by Condit Toyota), as well as Wednesday, August 30th, sponsored by Region Oil. Aside from the fireworks, the Skyhawks have several other promotions and giveaways planned for this final month of the season. Sunday, Aug. 20 and can bring their dog to the game, and receive a free admission with the purchase of a dog ticket. Friday, Aug. 25 is a seat cushion giveaway sponsored by the New Jersey Herald and Sovereign Bank. Saturday, Aug. 26 there will be a six-pack cooler giveaway sponsored by Service Electric Cable. Sunday, Aug. 27 will be a mini-baseball bat giveaway sponsored by Newton Memorial Hospital, as well as a baseball memorabilia and card show and a chance for kids to race around the bases. Tuesday, Aug. 29 is fan appreciation night and $1 beer and soda, and Thursday, Aug. 31 is the last game of the regular season.
