Girls' field hockey camp offered
WEST MILFORD The Junior Girls’ field hockey camp is designed for girls entering grades four through nine this coming fall. The daily schedule includes games, stickwork practices, scrimmages, fun contests, prizes, and fundamental skill sessions for offensive and defensive strategies. During the instructional programs, held at the West Milford High School Practice Field, campers receive supervision, encouragement, and instruction throughout the camp. In case of inclement weather, the camp moves indoors to the high school gym. Jill White, Camp Director, is the WMHS Varsity Field Hockey Coach. Because individual instruction is emphasized, campers are grouped according to age ability, experience, maturity, and competitive spirit. Each camper plays an equal amount of time in games. Campers must bring a stick, ball, mouthguard, shinguards, a bag lunch, and a bottle of water to camp each day. The camp is from August 7 through 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $135 for residents of West Milford and $145 for non-residents. Junior packages which include a junior field hockey stick, a ball, a mouthguard, and shinguards are available for an additional fee of $35. The fee for the equipment package is payable on the first day of camp. For information and registration call Parks and Recreation at 973-728-2860. Or contact wmfieldhockey@yahoo.com.
