Paiva netted a pair of goals and assisted on a pair of goals by Sarah Hildebrand as the Lady Rangers improved to 4-6 by snapping a four-match losing streak. Alyssa Mayer and Ailine Moriarty chipped in with assists while keeper Vicky Ziolkowski made nine saves. High Point 4, Morris Knolls 3 High Point edged Morris Knolls 4-3 in a non-league match last Thursday when the Wildcats rallied from a 2-1 deficit at the halftime break. Kathryn Pologruto produced the game-winning tally. Jess Lain scored the first two goals of the second half to boost High Point into a 3-2 lead before the Golden Eagles knotted the score. Ashley Sanborn netted an unassisted goal in the first half and dished off an assist on Lain’s second goal. Pope John 2, Vernon 0 Pope John remained undefeated as the Lions blanked Vernon 2-0 for their tenth win of the season. Keeper Erin Guthrie made ten saves, while Gabriela Magdelano and Christina Stassi supplied the goals, both of which came in the second half. Stephanie Barbulescu picked up an assist on Stassi’s insurance tally. Newton 5, Hopatcong 0 Nicole Peterson scored three times to notch a hat trick in leading Newton to a 5-0 win over Hopatcong as the Braves improved to 5-6-1. Peterson boosted the Braves into a three-goal advantage by the intermission, netting all of her goals in the first half. Magdalena Recalde and Sophie Flamouropoulos scored in the second half for Newton. Vernon 3, Kittatinny 0 Vernon blanked Kittatinny 3-0 as the Lady Vikings improved to 5-4. Jackie McGrath netted the game-winning tally 31 minutes into the game. Kayla Mecerino and Nicole Piela added insurance goals in the second half with Mandy Costello picking up an assist. Goalie Alicia Yaccarino made five saves.
